Happy New Years - and another hiatus

Sorry everyone, especially Meisa and Femslut21, who I still owe prize caps to. I got busy this past week with family and Christmas parties, and then ended up getting sick. I was actually getting better a few days ago, and was planning on a big New Years post with more caps, but in the past 36 hours I have totally shut down. Between the constant coughing, headaches, and nausea I'm just not in any shape to get any work done. Sorry about having to start the year off on another hiatus, and so soon after the last one earlier last month. :-(

On top of my illness, I'm also having a bit of a crisis with my ebooks (as is everyone in the ebook indie-community). The EU changed their tax laws, and now I have to go through all my books and assign a specific price for each country, because the VAT tax is different for each country in the EU, apparently. So, this is a lot of extra work for me, and will probably result in the prices of all my ebooks (and all ebooks in general) going up to compensate for the much higher tax rates. If you don't live in an EU country, the prices will remain the same, but otherwise you'll probably end up paying 20 to 30% more per ebook, all it tax.

Thankfully, Amazon is automatically adjusting their prices, so that saves me several hours of work and lots of time trying to work a calculator with a throbbing headache. But Smashwords, Kobo, and B&N I think will need more direct, hands-on involvement.

So don't expect many new posts from me for at least the next few days, until I'm done fixing my Tabitha Kohl's accounts and over this flu I've picked up. Sorry again, I wanted to start the year off better. :-(

So instead of new caps, here's a look back at some of my favorite captions from 2014, in no particular order:

Hope you all enjoyed 2014, and I hope that 2015 will be even better, regardless of this rough start. Happy New Years, everyone! :-)

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I have been neglecting an update to my own EU prices. Better get on it.
