Very Important (and Final) Post!!!

Okay everyone, after spending all yesterday dealing with the new suck from Google, I have relocated this blog to https://degradeddamsels.wordpress.com/. All future posts will be there, so be sure and change any bookmarks/favorite links to the new site.

I've also set up a new tumblr page, but I'm probably only going to use it as a backup. Tumblr shrinks my caps and even with Disqus enabled, the commenting functions are lacking. Plus tracking visits is very wonky, and I'm not sure how I feel about reblogs.

My main reason for choosing wordpress is that it let me import most of the important posts from this blog, as well as all of your wonderful comments, going back to the very beginning. So that's a nice feature over Tumblr as well. I'm still figuring out how it all works, but think I can replace/rebuild most of the widgets and blog lists I have on this site. Once I figure it out a bit more, I'll be relocating Humbled Harlots, though I might actually buy a private domain address to create a more permanent location for my writing blog. We'll see once everything has settled back down.

As far as the new site goes, the only things I seem to have lost are my tags -which I'll start adding back to old posts a few at a time- and my Sorority Prank War page, which I can also rebuild as time allows. Otherwise, I think this entire blog can neatly and completely relocate to the new home without much more fuss. Which is a huuuuuge relief to me!

Plus the new site has working emoticons, which is great! ;-)

See you all at the new home!

  1. I've also moved to wordpress, but I saw somebody who tried that some months ago say that their new blog got taken down from there after 24 hours, despite that they say they're ok with adult content. It seems that it may only be at a bare minimum.

    1. Really? Damn. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully they'll be too swamped with new blogs right now to bother trying to delete people. I'm keeping up the Tumblr site as a backup anyway. Thanks for the heads up though.

    2. Sounds like a good short term fix - although I also plan to build a site from scratch - maybe using the wordpress toolset if possible. Has anyone tried those "google tools" referenced in the email for downloading an archive of the existing blog for backup purposes?

    3. I just took the big leap myself. I run the flat and faking blog. I hope WordPress will be more lenient on adult content and policy, but you do have to report to them first: https://en.support.wordpress.com/mature-content/

  2. Thrandrall - you can use "Takeout" or some setting in Blogger itself. It was simpler than I thought...

  4. Great news that Blogger has backed down. You wont have to leave Blogger now. Of course, should you choose to move to Wordpress or were ever, I would follow you and the other captioners
