On top of my illness, I'm also having a bit of a crisis with my ebooks (as is everyone in the ebook indie-community). The EU changed their tax laws, and now I have to go through all my books and assign a specific price for each country, because the VAT tax is different for each country in the EU, apparently. So, this is a lot of extra work for me, and will probably result in the prices of all my ebooks (and all ebooks in general) going up to compensate for the much higher tax rates. If you don't live in an EU country, the prices will remain the same, but otherwise you'll probably end up paying 20 to 30% more per ebook, all it tax.
Thankfully, Amazon is automatically adjusting their prices, so that saves me several hours of work and lots of time trying to work a calculator with a throbbing headache. But Smashwords, Kobo, and B&N I think will need more direct, hands-on involvement.
So don't expect many new posts from me for at least the next few days, until I'm done fixing my Tabitha Kohl's accounts and over this flu I've picked up. Sorry again, I wanted to start the year off better. :-(
So instead of new caps, here's a look back at some of my favorite captions from 2014, in no particular order:
Hope you all enjoyed 2014, and I hope that 2015 will be even better, regardless of this rough start. Happy New Years, everyone! :-)

Oh, those were some good ones, all right!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your difficulties. I have been neglecting an update to my own EU prices. Better get on it.
Sorry to hear your unwell and about the EU tax problem, hope you feel better soon and able to get the work finished. Not a great start for 2015 for you sadly but maybe the year will get better.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, loved the first+third+4th+th ones, really really loved the second one. Had a good 2014 and looking forward to 2015!
Please take good care of yourself. No apologies necessary, I can wait for months if needed. :) 2014 was still quite a productive year for you, and I wish you all the more inspiration for 2015.
ReplyDeleteSeconded. Please get well and take care of your business affairs. No need to apologize.
DeleteA great collection of work. As much as want more amazing material, your health comes first!
